|Notes=The Farseers were originally sculpted to go in the Seer council box set that was released for The Eye of Terror release. These were held back because they had enough farseers to go in the box release and these were also missing the characteristic "Ghosthelm" which all farseers have.

Eldar - Collectors Guide

2020-06-07T18:11:06Z

Hendarion:

Citadel has produced a large number of Eldar miniatures throughout their history. The Eldar (or Space Elves) first appeared in the very first range produced for Warhammer 40,000 (Rogue Trader). A single Dark Elf Space Trooper proved to be the leading light of a race which has since spawned nearly 500 figures or kits in scales from 15mm through to large-scale statuettes.
Various generations of Eldar figures are outlined below, grouped together either by subject matter/game system (in the case of Epic 40,000, Necromunda and Battlefleet Gothic as examples) or by chronological release of the Warhammer 40,000 game system (Rogue Trader to 4th edition).

=== Q-Lab ===

Q-Lab is the unofficial name given to the team who build and cast all of the terrain used in Warhammer World and for studio photography. Among the pieces created for the Eldar, two are known to have been cast up in resin; the crashed Falcon used in Warhammer World, and the Eldar Wraithgate used for display and in the 4th edition Eldar codex.

Eldar (Warhammer 40k 2nd Edition) - Collectors Guide

2019-01-30T20:37:22Z

Hendarion: /* Vehicles */

The release of WH40k 2nd edition saw a swathe of characterisation of all the races, predominantly through the addition of characters to the various ranges. The Eldar saw the natural progression of the concept of the Aspect Warriors in the Phoenix Lords - the ultimate warriors. As design and casting abilities improved, larger figures were being added to several ranges; the Avatar grew in stature and multi-piece kits such as the Wraithguard, War Walkers and Wraithlords were redesigned and became integral to larger forces as the game steered away from skirmishes to full battles.

=== 3rd Edition Eldar 1998 ===

In 1998, WH40k 3rd edition was released, marking a further advance away from the skirmish game of Rogue Trader, to a full-on pitched battle scenario. The biggest change for 3rd edition was the release of multi-component plastic kits for all basic troopers, making large armies viable to field. The Guardian set saw a radical redesign of the appearance of armour and helmets which reinforced the overall appearance of the Eldar as a race.

=== 3rd Edition Codex Craftworld Eldar Releases 2000 ===

When Codex Craftworld Eldar was released, the accompanying miniature range was the biggest overhaul of the Eldar since the 1991 figures. The old Jes Goodwin designs were resculpted by the Citadel Team, however many of the new models were not well received, being inelegant or clunky in design.

==== Dire Avenger Boxed Set ====

The Dire Avenger Boxed set comprised a metal and plastic hybrid set with white metal add-ons to the existing 3rd Ed Guardian plastic kit.
